I'm back alas...
Wanted to lament on the 2 unfriendly persons I encountered this morning...
One was talking to me on the phone as though I did something wrong.
But in fact, I was just the messenger and wasn't aware of the background of what I was tasked to do.
The other, I just couldn't reach her, by office phone or mobile.
And to think I found her at her workstation when I personally walked down to find her.
And she answered to my questions as though I shouldn't have asked.

They were simply unfriendly.

And I always dislike it when people refuse to entertain/help others
just because they think they are really busy.
It's not only them who are busy okay...
Even so, at least be courteous and give a little response.
Respect others' work and others will respect yours.

*****

Uncertainty just poured into my world since last week.
I thought this would not be something I would expect to hear,
after all the many efforts that were put in.
I really want to believe again.
But fear has overpowered the belief,
at least for now.

I prefer enclosed areas to open spaces.
Feel more secured this way.

That's why, surprisingly, I prefer my current workstation (after compacting) to the previous one.

That's why, when I sleep, I like to be surrounded / covered with my pillows and soft toys.

That's why I feel more at ease sitting on the inner seat on buses, and enjoy the bus ride better.

=)

I've got a new hairstyle!
Finally, I'm moving away from the usual straight hair of mine.
Quite like the permed hair,
though some people may feel that I look more matured.

=)

World Cup 2010 is here!
Watched my first World Cup match yesterday.
Able to watch England play,
but yet again, they disappoint me and perhaps many others,
with their lacklustre performance.
At least they din lose!

=)

I dropped one side of my favourite earring today....boohoo....

But I thought there seemed to be a lesson behind it.

If things are incompatible, they will eventually part.

Just like my earring.
The ear stud that holds the ear ring to the ear (not sure what is it called exactly)
doesn't belong to the ear ring itself.

Haiz.. my mum can be very restrictive at times.
Just now was mentioning to her that I wanna perm my hair.
Then she created a few minutes of 'hoo-ha'...
shaking her head, saying no no no,
that permed hair will be difficult to manage, etc...
wasting money in the end..

But I want to change my hair style for once.
Had been keeping straight hair for like... how many donkey years.

And nan de now I got 50% off Jean Yip voucher!!

Think nobody in the right mind will like it.
Half of the section is practically going crazy over it,
especially those colleagues who play a larger role in it.
Can't even keep our seats warm for an hour.
Didn't have much time left during the working hours to do our other work.
ended up with OT...
but i do it at home.. (more refreshed after a bath..)
Ahhh.. can't wait for it to be over!

the department i'm in charge of will take at least 2 (consecutive) weeks for the reconfiguration to be completed!?
no wonder there's only one department assigned to me..

10 more days to my _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
but i don't seem to be anticipating it...
after my day-off couldn't be taken around that weekend...
no choice...

My first ever concert since (at least) 10 years ago.
The first was my favourite British boyband (which disbanded already..boohoo).
So quite enjoyable to be able to attend another concert again. =D

But too bad I'm not very familiar with many of their songs.
Nonetheless, still like the atmosphere (which could have been better if all the people were grouped closer together);
like the fireworks! Fireworks at an outdoor concert, cool!

The only flaw is the long queuing time to get into the stadium.
Imagine the queue stretching across at least 500m (including the U-turned queue).
Waited around 45mins before we could enter.

Anyway, good weekend!
Star Awards Show One later this evening =)

It has been one week since I came back from the 6D5N trip to Hong Kong/Macau.
Kinda miss the place, mainly due to the weather lolz
It was kinda chilly while we were there.
HK would have been similar to S'pore,
if not for the interesting attractions
like the Madame Tussauds, the Peak, Lantau/Lamma Island, Victoria Harbour.

I truly fall in love with some of Macau's architecture (the more developed ones) and hotel themes.

Here are some of my top voted fun places / activities!

The Peak Tram
(which brings you up and down the Peak)

At some points, the tram was 45 degree slanting!
(Below is me trying to take a picture of the scene behind me while I was standing at 45 degree =D)

The 25-min cable ride to and from Ngong Ping Village in Lantau Island
(the longest cable car ride I have ever ridden; it gives riders a panoramic view of the area, e.g. HK Int'l Airport, the hilly areas of HK)

This interesting machine activity at HK Heritage Village

(Guess who is this? Hehe)

(It's me!)

As mentioned, the specially designed architecture of some of the Macau Casinos
(the Grand Lisboa which shines as dusk approaches)

(The interior of Venetian Macau
where Boys Over FLowers Filmed at)

(the place where it is always daylight!
- it's a food court actually)

Now for the top 2 most romantic places in my view: =)

The Victoria Harbour at Tsim Sha Tsui
(you can really have a great view of the city landscape from here; it's a long stretch, comprising of the Avenue of Stars as well; saw quite a number of couples sitting by the harbour, enjoying the view and catching up with each other)

Again, it's got to be the Venetian Macau
specifically the boat ride along the man-made Grand Canal.

Be the lucky ones (like us!) to have Enrico, the man with powerful voice, who will sing for you as he rows your boat along the canal.

The most professionally taken photo of the trip
it's actually taken by our Macau tour guide =)

So much of the HK trip,
it is an enjoyable getaway for a first timer.
On the other side,
I wasn't drawn to the Ocean Park which was too family-oriented for me (and perhaps us? haha).
The rides weren't many.
Shopping-wise was another disappointment.
Certain things were rather expensive.
I came back only with some clothes, no bags and only 2 pairs of boots (which couldn't be worn too often in S'pore mah..).
Taiwan is still better! Lolz..
Nonetheless, it's a great break,
filled with laughter (mainly because of YC's humour),
and some bonding time. =)

Looking forward to the next holiday!

HK doesn't seem to have many specialty food.
But I got to comment that the HKongers know how to pamper themselves with a sumptuous spread of breakfast items. In many eateries, there are breakfast set meals which consist of a bowl of noodles, bread-base set (can be sandwiches, toasts, etc.. with eggs) and drinks.
Really advocate the fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! (but be careful of not over-eating!)
Let me introduce my top favourites!
Desserts at Honeymoon Dessert
(simply love the mango desserts; must try the sago in mango and tofu!)

The famous Portugese Egg Tarts
(so crispy and fragrant! Leave you wanting for more!)

许留山 Desserts
(tried the aloe vera in mango and coconut juice; what a unique sweet comby!)

My top favourite of all, which prompted me to buy it again on the last day of the trip
奶油公仔包
(rich in butter and condensed milk - sounds unhealthy but.. delicious!)

Among the tasty food that I have eaten,

I was quite disappointed with the HK Milk Tea.

Or maybe I wasn't used to that kind of milk tea which I think they use a different type of milk.

Leave a weird aftertaste and smell...

Nonetheless,

I guess HK is very 'noodle-friendly'.

You seem to see noodles dishes everywhere.

I came back to Singapore, telling my dad not to buy noodles for me, for the subsequent couple of days! Lolz.

But the HK Wantan Noodles was commendable. =)
