Just explicitly realised yesterday that an art concept subsists in shopping. The concept varies between the kind of shopping one engages in.

Window Shopping vs Shopping for a Purpose:

One simply wanders around shopping malls and weave in and out of stores during window shopping, with no specific look-out for a particular item or service.
One might then be intrigued by the newest merchandize one discovers during shopping. Or one might be overwhelmed by the array of items on sale at the stores.
In contrast, one might just deem it as an ordinary scene, seeing the same things everywhere and everytime. Or one might express neutral feelings as to what is being displayed in front of their eyes.

That might be window shopping.

Shopping for a purpose involves much more thinking and evaluation in the mind. In other words, the mind might be in a continuous swirl, taking in the variety of items available in the specific product category one is targeting at. There's this conscious "silent" effort to consider numerous buying criteria, hence exhibiting the elements of the Consumer Purchasing Decision-making model. It can be a straining activity to that person at the end of the shopping trip!

Nonetheless, there exists this disparity between males and females in terms of their shopping behaviour. There is often this perceived notion that girls generally would hop from one store to another, comparing the items everytime. They intend to shop in all stores within their shopping vicinity for that day, before finally deciding what and where to purchase their item(s) from. On the other hand, perhaps guys might be more swift in their buying. Once they spot something which matches their initial buying criteria, they might just pay for it there and then. So is it really true in this sense? Lolz. Maybe that explains why and how girls can withstand hours and hours of non-stop shopping, though their feet are hurting right there. Haha.

Anyway, the bottomline is shopping for a purpose is a relatively more tedious process than merely window shopping indefinitely.

Twin/Group Shopping vs Shopping Alone:

Some like to shop alone while others like to have some company. There lies the pros and cons anyway.
For me, I would prefer to shop alone when I'm really shopping for a purpose. Eg. buying clothes. It allows me to proceed faster from one store to another, based on whether I see anything suitable in that particular store, thus not exactly hindered by any delay as a result of having someone with me on the shopping trip. Of course, I would have to compromise on gaining valuable opinions from my shopping mate(s). =)

I would not deny the fact that twin/group shopping is more fun and less boring.
Ultimately, I guess it depends on the purpose of your shopping trip and what you hope to achieve at the end of the experience. =)

Brain-drained and tiring to do the e-commerce notes plus reading the textbook & articles. Exam this saturday. *_*

3 more days and I'll be free!

Was surfing the net on Monday and came across this local website featuring numerous Singapore online stores - http://www.emall.sg/index.php

Was engrossed in what some of the stores got to offer.
Was at an online store site when I spotted a rather nice dangling earring, with an artificial small rose in the middle of the earring. Had wanted to instantly buy it.. it's not expensive.. haha.. but shall wait to see if any of my gfs wishes to get sth from there too.. (free postage with purchases of 2 or more items heehee).

And.. i'd been looking around for a suitable dress.
Looked through the store galleries.. had some idea of what's out there.. and what kind i want.. =)
However, i still prefer to go down to the physical stores to look and try.. (that's one downside of online purchasing - you cannot try nor check the quality of the items! hoho.. e-commerce!)

Hmm.. looks like I've got quite a bit of shopping to do after exams - on the lookout for a dress; need to stock up my office wear, if not, i'll be wearing the same old set of clothes for my internship lolz; need to source for some other stuff as well..

woaaahh.. looks like a very big hole is going to seep through my pocket.. *bleah*

Heya! Finally the exams have started. One paper down and two more to go. Yeah. I only have 3 papers this semester and they are all open-book exams. Hoho. Okie.. shan't be too gleeful and complacent about it, like how someone had told me lolzz..

Hmm... was kinda slacked and restless today. Partly because I don't feel like getting down to studying again, esp. after the biz comm paper this morning. And partly because my mind is kinda preoccupied with the preparation for my 21st bdae party in 3 weeks' time.

Finally got to send out the invitation 'card' just now. =p But I don't think the response will come in so fast... haha... people tend to drag, I'm guilty as charged too.. *_* Anyway, it will be something I can look forward to. The 'skeleton' on how the party will be like is somehow done. The games, the choice of food and all. Just a concern though (like how a friend mentioned to me), does my invitation 'card' appear as if the party is gonna be like an SDU event? Lolz... maybe it does... Hmm... and thanks to those who reply early! It really helps a lot in pre-preparation. =p Hope the party will take off smoothly! Anything can happen. It might please you, amaze you, shock you, entertain you..... who knows? Hee. Okie. shall see ya all there! =)

Eh... I guess I gotta hit the books now... (though reluctantly but compulsory). Well, not sure how to really study for the APB paper... * shakes head *

~Ciao ~

Today had finally come for my driving practical test. The whole driving ordeal had lasted for nearly one year with the in-between distractions and hurdles. I'd spent a bomb on it and hours on the lessons + travelling to and from the driving centre. Quite a hassle definitely. Thus.. I'm so so glad that I need not step into that place anymore! Lolz..that means I passed the test! Hehe.

Actually I should count myself lucky. Firstly, my test route was the route that I took during the warm-up before the test itself. So should thank the warm-up instructor for taking me there? haha. Secondly, I think my tester was rather lenient haha.. He mentioned he could have given me 8 demerit pts instead of 4/6 pts for a mistake that I'd made. Thirdly, I realised I didn't do the slope component in the circuit and didn't do a U-turn on the road... Hoho.. Hmm.. and my parallel parking seemed to fare much better than the vertical parking. Sort of screwed up a bit for the latter... had to re-do it.. lolz.. Anyway, on the overall, I didn't fare that badly =) Cheerios to myself! Hee... though I won't have a car to drive in the near future lolz. But it's a kind of accomplishment =p

kk.. tmr shall be the official day that I'm cleared from all the projects, assignments and presentations.. And the "last" day of school before the exams. Feeling so great! Suddenly feel like a bird being let out of the cage haha. 2 more weeks and this sem will be over, finally. Thereafter.. I shall start my internship at ParkRoyal Hotel. Kinda anticipating it but I guess I'll feel the sian-ness after some time into the job... doubt anyone will like working haha.

Anyway, feeling sleepy now le... shall stop here for tonight =)
Have a great week ahead, everybody!
