Guess what was discovered on Desaru beach??
See below...

A dead turtle!!
It really looked rather... disgusting..
It's huge... a little rotten...
with all the flies hovering around it.
And the skull had already been revealed...
Eeeekks..
Guess where I stayed during the Desaru trip??
Kampong house??

Haha... of course... not...
This was Pulai Desaru Resort.
The place that was my 'home' for 2 days 1 night.

Last week was kinda draggy for me,
because I was looking forward to the weekend break.
It was a last minute booking though.
Speaking of booking.
The accomodation and ferry tickets were booked through FIVE STAR tour agency.
Wonder why I cap the name of the tour agency?
To many, FIVE STAR tour agency is well-known and popular among holiday goers.
What was really disappointing were the mistakes that were committed by the tour agent!
We happily arrived at Changi Ferry Terminal and then went to check-in.
What caught us unexpected were the 3 things the immigration officers told us:
1) "Your tickets are child tickets."
2) "We don't have the ferry reservation form from the tour agent so we could not process the ferry tickets."
3) "There isn't a 5pm ferry ride back tomorrow."
So we waited for nearly one hour before we could call the tour agency when they open for the day. While waiting, we were scolding the tour agent. Do we look like a child, that you have to issue child tickets to us? And why didn't you pass the reservation form to us? And how come you told us there is a 5pm ferry ride back the next day? Is this the kind of service that FIVE STAR can offer???
Anyway, we manage to speak to a person from another branch. And.. we got to pay for the adult tickets which would be refunded to us.
I'm going down to confront that tour agent tomorrow. Hmph..
Nonetheless, we managed to proceed on with the Desaru getaway!
Actually, there wasn't much to do at Desaru.
I would prefer Bintan.
The view and surroundings at Bintan seem to be nicer...
The resort at Bintan seems to be newer,
and housed with more entertainment facilities..
Okay lah.. on the brighter side,
the Kampung tour was interesting.
traditional Malay house,
eating Malay lunch,
and playing Malay instrument.
Oh ya! Not forgetting the seafood dinner!!
Oh my, the crab meat was really really soft and smooth in texture.
Yummy!
The lobster too, rich in meat.
Looking forward to the next holiday or getaway,
which I wonder when..
In the meantime,
it's 2 weeks of 3 1/2 day work week.
And Xmas!
And New Year!
Woohoo!
